Anthropic put Claude Opus 4.7 into general availability the week of Code with Claude in London (May 19 to 21). It's the model that will run long-form coding tasks and enterprise agents. The marketing signal: the model that understands workflow is here.
Claude Opus 4.7 brings concrete improvements. Better performance on long, multi-step coding tasks, higher-resolution vision (it reads images in more detail), greater consistency when the agent runs for several hours. For marketing, the direct use case isn't writing copy, it's operating multi-step workflows: take a brief, split it into pieces, generate variants, compare against guidelines, escalate the approved version. That used to need four different models. Now it fits in one.
Code with Claude in London
The May 19 to 21 event in London showed three things. One, the redesigned Claude Code desktop app, with session sidebar, drag-and-drop workspace, integrated terminal and editor. Two, Managed Agents with dreaming memory, multi-agent orchestration and fine-grained permissions. Three, PwC and other consultancies expanded use of Claude to build technology and execute client work. The translation for a brand: the consultancies that implement marketing tech stacks today will operate with Claude in the back office, not with humans on spreadsheets. The project will cost the same, but quality and time to market shift.
What to do with this in marketing
Two questions to bring to the next tech meeting. One, does the current stack let a Claude agent operate the CRM, the DMP, the media platform and the creative tool? If the answer is no, there's a platform project to do before the agent project. Two, who on the team has the authority to authorize an Opus 4.7 model to spend money? That can't be delegated: the person who signs has to know the cap and the exit if things go off track.
The signal: Claude Opus 4.7 changes the unit cost of running multi-step workflows. The interesting project for 2026 isn't generating copy, it's setting up the pipeline where one agent replaces four tools. The question is platform, not model.
